Believe what you want to....[Beth]

There are so many different belief systems out in this world, I don't even want to THINK about counting them all. Sitting in English, we discussed Trancendentalist writers like Emerson and Thoreau. And their beliefs bring up some interesting points to ponder. I'm not going to like. "To be Great is to be Misunderstood." is one of the best quotes that I've heard in a long time...however...

Here is a challenge for you today, I want you guys to understand that I'm not here to conform you to anything. I have my beliefs and you have yours, but I want you to understand yourself and make your own decisions. Yes, I understand that your parents have some say in what you do but...last time I checked, you were your own person. And sometimes....even they don't know what's good for you.

I don't think that you should fall to any religion or belief unless YOU want to. Honestly as, not only a citizen of these United States, but as a person...you have the right to make these kinds of things. I have a great friend who isn't any religion...and I don't know if he even wants to be, he's just happy where he is and that's fine.

I may be titled a "Christian" but I don't always agree with what they preach. Because, humanistically...it's not right to me. But, that blog is coming later. Alright kiddies, I have to finish some work and then get my English homework done!

Peace, Love and Your own Decisions...

Beth.

  1. I'm...in all technical terms, agnostic.
Christianity seems flawed in my opinion, which wasn't brought to my attention until my Pastor at the time was confirming me in the church (not good timing).
There are a few things in Christianity that I like. The Ten Commandments are a great thing to follow (minus the whole "I'm the best God. Follow no others" It's basically on there twice)
I like a lot of things from a lot of different religions. And I think that everyone has the right to choose their own and seek which one is right for them instead of going with the flock.
